Alimony calculation
The calculation of the alimony amount based on need and capacity to pay.
The alimony calculation is a standardized calculation in which the need of the person entitled to alimony and the capacity of the person liable are determined. For child maintenance, the Trema standards are used, drawn up by the Expert Group on Maintenance Standards. The calculation takes into account income, expenses, tax aspects and the standard of living during the marriage. Judges use these standards as guidelines but are not bound by them.
