An estate inventory is a detailed list of all assets and debts that must be divided in a divorce.
An estate inventory ("boedelbeschrijving") is an overview of all assets and debts belonging to the community of property or estate to be divided. In a divorce it forms the basis for a fair division of property.
The inventory includes:
Parties can draw up the inventory themselves or have a notary record it. In case of dispute, the court can order an inventory (sometimes under oath). A complete and accurate inventory prevents later disputes about concealed or forgotten assets.
