Co-parenting

An arrangement where children spend roughly equal time with both parents after divorce.

Co-parenting is a form of care division where the child stays approximately equally with both parents after divorce, for example a week-on-week-off arrangement. It is not a legally defined concept but a practical implementation of shared parenting. Co-parenting requires good communication between parents and proximity of homes. The court cannot impose co-parenting if both parents do not support it.

With co-parenting, the children stay with the mother one week and the father the next.
