Forumshopping

Forum shopping is the deliberate choice of the country in which a divorce petition is filed, in order to benefit from more favourable rules on alimony, division of assets or custody. Within the EU, the Brussels II-ter Regulation determines which court has jurisdiction, which curbs forum shopping.
