restraining order (home ban)

A temporary ban on entering the home and contact in cases of (threatened) domestic violence.

A restraining order is a temporary ban, imposed by the mayor in cases of (threatened) domestic violence, prohibiting the perpetrator from entering the shared home for ten days and from contacting the partner or children. This measure is often used shortly before or during divorce proceedings.

After the escalation, the mayor imposed a ten-day restraining order so the woman and children could safely stay at home.
