Registration of divorce
The registration of the divorce judgment in the civil register, which makes the divorce final.
Registration of the divorce in the civil register is required under Article 1:163 of the Dutch Civil Code. Only after this registration is the divorce legally final. Registration takes place at the municipality where the marriage was concluded, or in case of a foreign marriage, at the municipality of The Hague.
