Youth care

The entirety of assistance and protection for children and young people experiencing growing-up problems.

Youth care encompasses all forms of help and support for children, young people and their parents with growing-up and parenting problems. Since the Youth Act of 2015, municipalities are responsible for youth care. This includes youth assistance, youth protection and youth rehabilitation. Certified institutions carry out child protection measures and youth rehabilitation. In divorce, youth care may be involved when there are concerns about children's wellbeing.

After the divorce, youth care was called in to guide the children through the process.
