Kinderrekening
Children’s account (kinderrekening)
A children’s account is a joint bank account into which both parents deposit money for the children’s costs after divorce.
A children's account ("kinderrekening") is a joint account into which divorced parents deposit an agreed amount to pay the children's costs.
It is an alternative or supplement to classic child maintenance and fits well with co-parenting.
Points to record in the parenting plan:
For tax and benefits a children's account can have consequences; it is advisable to record the arrangement well in advance to prevent conflicts.
“Instead of child maintenance they agreed on a children’s account into which both deposited according to capacity.”
