Foster care
Placement of a child with a foster family when the child cannot live at home.
Foster care is a form of child welfare in which a child is temporarily or for a longer period placed with a foster family. This can be voluntary or as part of a child protection measure. Foster parents receive a foster allowance and are supported by a foster care provider.
“The child was placed in foster care after the home situation was found to be unsafe.”
